Reflection

For the third term we did brainstorming for ideas that we can do for the performance. We were divided into groups to investigate the ideas that we brainstormed and the ideas the we are interested in we choose it then we investigate it. I chose Battle of the countries. In the end we chose the acting out music videos. songs that we will perform are candy, wavin flag and greased lighting. I will play the kolintang in candy and waving flag.

BATTLE OF THE COUNTRIES

Different Possibilities:

• Same genre different countries
• A specific period of time but different countries
• ‘War’
• Music nowadays mixed with old music from different countries
• A mashup but like a battle mashup
• Traditional music from different countries.
• Modern music from different countries
• Music that changed the world from different countries.
• Different countries but played with the same instrument
• Music of revolutions
• A musical of a battle
• Legends from different countries

Music that changed the world from different countries

It would be a great idea to have music from different countries that changed the world…

For example Gangnam style helped the world to realize that famous catchy music doesn’t have to be always english. As I have mentioned Gangnam style from Korea it could get mashed up with thriller from Michael Jackson. It was the first music video actually created that matched the music. From then on people started doing music videos that made the songs more famous and attracting.

Revolution Music

What I think we can do is that we perform music that was from the revolutions. I think that 3 revolutions which means 3 songs is a good number for us to perform. This would mean that we have to learn 3 songs.

2. Carmagnole - French revolution
3. Maju tak gentar - Indonesian revolution

I think we can perform with 6 songs from different countries but each countries has has 2 songs that is from the modern era and the old era mixed together. So the songs from the both era will battle with different countries.
